Irene A. Mantz, 90, formerly of Slatington, died Dec. 11, 2013, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall, where she was a resident.
She was the wife of the late Harold H. Mantz.
Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Weisenberg Township, she was the daughter of the late Warren A. and Annie L. (Frey) Herber.
She was employed in the Central Supply Department of the former Allentown General Hospital for 10 years before retiring.
Prior to that, she operated the poultry portion of the family farm in North Whitehall Township for 25 years.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Laurys Station.
Her survivors include a son, Dr. Arlan W. and his wife, Barbara of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sisters Pauline A. Lentz of Slatington, Ruth A. Raber and her husband, Sterling, of Orefield, Barbara A. Schwartz and her husband, Joseph, of Laurys Station; and grandson Dr. Yves A. Mantz of Morgantown, W.Va.
She was predeceased by brothers Wayne, Carl and Glen Herber.
