Edwin J. Boger, 81, died peacefully Dec. 11, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital's Inpatient Hospice Unit.
He was the husband of the late Florence J. (Benton) Boger, and the former husband of Lucile Straub of Santa Ana, Calif.
Born in Cetronia, he was the son of the late Norman J. Boger and Annie J. (Lorish) Boger.
A 1951 Parkland High School graduate, he joined the U.S. Army Medical Corp in 1952 and served active duty in Korea until 1954.
He continued his military career with the U.S. Medical Corps Reserves and retired as a sergeant major in 1992.
He was an active member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ, Heidelberg Township, for many years.
His survivors include daughters Ann L., wife of Neil Mattis of Phoenix Ariz., Kay E., wife of Craig Cain of Zachary, La.; son Eric J. Boger of Santa Anna, Calif.; stepdaughter Cynthia A. Morrison at home; companion and sister-in-law; Shirley A. (Tamerler) Boger; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Evelyn J., wife of the late Franklin Wetzel, of Schnecksville, Eleanor J., wife of Ronald Klevenhagen of Slatington.
He was predeceased by a brother, Earl J.
