Firefighters from Eastern and Western Salisbury fire departments are called to a home at 1615 South Halstead St. about 11:15 a.m. Dec. 3 for a report of "smoke in a dwelling." Salisbury Police Department Sergeant Donald Sabo, the township's fire marshal, said the smoke was caused by a malfunctioning thermostat in the home's heating system. Firefighters used portable fans to ventilate the home.
