A good deed turns bad

PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH

A pickup truck is destroyed in an early morning fire at the home of William and Elma Sugra, 1067 Oldstone Rd., Salisbury Township. Western Salisbury firefighters were dispatched by the Lehigh County 911 for the truck fire about 7:30 a.m. Dec. 11. When Salisbury police reported the fire was near the residence, Western Salisbury Fire Department Chief Joshua Wells upgraded the response to a "dwelling fire" and the county dispatched Eastern Salisbury and Cetronia firefighters to assist at the scene. Police said the truck was completely involved and siding on the garage door and garage entrance was melting. The fire occurred after a good deed by Elma Sugra who started the truck to warm it up for use later by Bill.
