Police are investigating a Dec. 4 burglary at a home in the 3900 block of Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township.
According to police, a 92-year-old woman reported a man rang her side doorbell at noon and said he was from the water department.
The woman told police the man had some sort of indentification hanging around his neck.
Police say the man told her a neighbor reported his water bill was too high and he was checking out the problem.
The man led the woman to her kitchen where he ran the water for 5 to 10 minutes.
He then told her there was air in the lines and they would be back to fix it.
After the man had left, the woman discovered a large amount of cash and jewelry had been stolen.
The man is described as white, in early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and clean shaven with dark brown, medium-length hair.
He was wearing glasses, blue jeans, a white T-shirt and dark blue zippered jacket.
According to police, he was driving a full-size white panel van.
