As always, the Liberty Hurricanes will have depth on their side for the 2013-2014 swimming season.
"The boys numbers are really good. The returning kids talked it up to the younger kids," said coach Reik Foust.
The boys team had a 10-3 season last year, and will work to improve upon that.
Key returners will include Sean Vanatta, Brandon Merkert, Evan Smith, Alex Fitch, and Nolan Vanatta.
Parkland, Emmaus, and Freedom expect to be challenges for the Hurricane boys again.
"Easton will be good. I don't know what Stroudsburg has or Pocono Mountain West. We're sort of going in with one eye open. I know what we have, but not necessarily what we're up against," Foust said.
On the girls side, the Hurricanes' numbers are excellent, and the girls will work to match, if not improve upon last year's 11-1-1 record.
"We lost to Parkland and tied Emmaus. We want to be better than we were last year," said Foust.
Key returners will include Shelby Turner, Emily Cecchini, Alexis Brenner, Rachel Becker, Rachel Steiner, and Brenna McCornack.
Regarding the Hurricanes' recent practices, Foust said, "We train everybody like an IM'er. Then we see how the strokes play out. The returners know what they want to do and what they have to do."
Liberty's first dual meet was scheduled for Dec. 7 at Stroudsburg.
