Jennie A. Schantz, 91, of Exeter Township, formerly of Emmaus, died Dec. 3, 2013, surrounded by her family, in her home. She was the wife of Albert I. Schantz. They celebrated 68 years of marriage in July. Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Russell P. Evert and Mary Jane (Williams) Evert. She was the stepdaughter of the late Allen F. Haas.

She retired as an employee of the Exeter School District, having worked in the cafeteria of the junior high school. Previously she was employed by the former Emmaus Pajama Factory.

She is survived by her husband; children, Cheryl K. Trexler, of Emmaus, Lt. Col. Jeffery A., USAF (retired) and his wife Sarah, of Breinigsville, and Scott A. and his wife Deborah, of Fleetwood; grandchildren, Traci Steltz, of Kutztown, Dan Trexler, of Center Valley, Penny Doyle, of Emmaus, Alan, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Temple Helm, of Wichita Falls, Texas; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
