Emmaus' Old-Fashioned Christmas, sponsored by Emmaus Main Street Partners, a partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, began with storytelling at the Emmaus Public Library. The 1803 House, Shelter House, Knauss Homestead and Emmaus Moravian Church were open noon to 4 p.m. The Emmaus Historical Society's museum, 563 Chestnut St., was also open. At 2 p.m., there was a free showing of the "Polar Express" at the Emmaus Theater, sponsored by Edward Jones Investments. Attendees were requested to bring a nonperishable food item. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. there were various musical performances on the Triangle Park stage. At 6 p.m. there was a community sing-along, tree lighting with Emmaus Mayor Winfield Iobst pulling the switch and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Horse and carriage rides were available in front of Creamery on Main.
