Zumbathon draws 50 for stroke victim benefit

Emmaus resident Jackie Quinton, who suffered a severe stroke April 28, and is taking extensive rehabilitation at Good Shepherd, Allentown, to regain use of her right-side limbs, cannot join the Zumba fitness enthusiasts who show up for a Zumbathon benefit for her recently, however, she enjoys every jump and sway of the participants. Quinton's fellow instructors in the Lehigh Valley area Zumba community organized the benefit to help raise funds to help defray Quinton's medical expenses. The floor of the Shoemaker Elementary School gymnasium was crowded for the event. Quinton's mother, Joan Schlesinger, a former Lehigh Valley resident, made a special trip from her home in the Atlanta area to witness the event and support her daughter.
