EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN New York Times bestselling author Sean Covey to speak at HST
Sean Covey, the author of "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids," will visit Harry S Truman Elementary School 1 p.m. Dec. 4.
In his book, Covey created seven different animal characters, who teach children ages four to eight to take charge of their lives through balance. When a child applies the author's seven habits to everyday life, they are expected to be happy, excel academically and have fewer discipline problems.
Approximately 100 guests, primarily educators, will attend this event on the school's annual Leadership Day. A select group of students will speak to the visitors and will give group tours throughout the building. Each wing of the school will represent one of the seven habits.
Covey has written over a dozen motivational books for children and teens. His book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens," has sold more than 4 million copies and has been translated into over 20 languages.
