A 48-year-old Orefield man voluntarily turned himself into state troopers after an investigation revealed he had allegedly been sexually assaulting his stepdaughter.
Timonthy Michael Merwarth, of the 3700 block of Route 309 and Patio Court Motel, Route 309 Richland Township, Bucks County, was charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, sexual abuse of children, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, obscene and other sexual material and performances, making terroristic threats and indecent assault for incidents, which allegedly occurred between June 11, 2011, and April 17, State Police Troop M Bethlehem say.
He was transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center, where he was arraigned before District Judge Jake Hammond, South Whitehall Township.
His bail was set at $500,000.
Merwarth was unable to post bail and was committed to Lehigh County Prison.
