A 24-year-old Allentown man was arrested Nov. 20 for allegedly burglarizing a building at 411 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., South Whitehall Township.
According to South Whitehall Police Officer Jerome H. Cramer, an investigation disclosed that between Nov. 19 and the next day, portions of the heating system, plumbing, window screens and wiring were removed.
Cramer said additional investigation disclosed Timothy Alexander Horlacher allegedly had cashed in items matching the description from the South Whitehall property at United Compressed Steel, 802 N. 13th St., Allentown.
Further investigation including surveillance of the North Cedar Crest Boulevard property revealed Horlacher allegedly had gained illegal entry into the property and was in the process of removing additional pieces of the heating system, air conditioning system, door knobs and brass carpet stays, plumbing and electric wiring, Cramer said.
Horlacher's actions caused extensive damage to all mechanical systems in the building.
Horlacher was released to Central Booking for arraignment on burglary and related charges.
According to Lehigh County Criminal Court Records, Horlacher was charged with two counts of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
He was arraigned on Nov. 21 before District Judge Wayne Maura, Bethlehem.
Monetary bail was set at $50,000. Horlacher, who was unable to post bail,was remanded to Lehigh County Prison.
