Charles Warwick, known as "Father Charlie" to the parishioners of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Whitehall, organized the church's first annual karaoke night.
With the help of JoAnn Fedor and other members of the parish, the Nov. 16 event turned out to be quite a success.
The family karaoke night was open to church members, their guests and other members of the community. It was simply intended to serve as a way to give back to the community, organizers said.
A mixture of kids and adults attended and were treated to the music of Guest deejay Rockin' Rich, and to a variety of pot luck treats and beverages.
The upbeat music was mixed with the occasional Christmas tune, creating a fun and festive atmosphere for the guests.
The musical choices of the karaoke participants included songs from a wide array of artists including Katy Perry, Conway Twitty, Fleetwood Mac and The Four Seasons.
Some of the kids even sang a few Christmas songs such as "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bells," while another child sang her ABCs.
Father Charlie was happy with the turnout for the karaoke night.
"Karaoke is a family event. We wanted families to come out tonight and have a good time," he said.
All of the guests – especially the singers – seemed to do just that.
