Herman H. Rupp

Herman H. Rupp, 91, of Fogels-ville, died on Nov. 14, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He was the husband of the late Gladys L. (Ziegler) Rupp.

Born in Weisenberg Township, he was a son of the late Andrew G. and Verna I. (Sechler) Rupp Madeira.

Retiring in 1984, he was a maintenance mechanic for Air Products, Trexlertown, for 27 years.

He also worked for the former Eastern States Farmers Exchange, Ironton.

He honorably served his country in the Army, achieving the rank of sergeant during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star.

A charter member of VFW Post 8282, Brein-igsville, he was captain of drivers and a firefighter with the Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company for 27 years.

He served as trustee and on the house committee of the fire company and was a member of Lehigh County Fire Association.

He was past president of Fogelsville Senior Citizens; and past president and vice president of Okome Conservation of Lycoming County.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fogelsville.

His survivors include a son, Roger H. at home; brother Frederick of Allentown; sisters Carolyn Rauch of Emmaus and Goldie Ritter of Cetronia; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ira, and sisters Leah Ziegler, Mildred Rodenbach and Margaret Sassaman.
