Emmaus Historical Society meets 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church for a presentation on "The Emaus World War I Homecoming of 1919." Citizens of Emmaus erected a beautiful double arch spanning both Main and Chestnut streets at the Triangle to welcome home our boys following the Great War. Our presentation of the celebration and events that took place Aug. 1 to 3, 1919, will include a gallery of rare photos.

Nov. 21

The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees meeting at St. Peters Lutheran Church community room, 1933 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Lunch will be served noon. Following the meal, a program will be presented by Eric Dormant, financial advisor, who will discuss items of interest and concern to seniors. A brief business session will conclude the meeting. GFWC-PA Woman's Club of Emmaus monthly meeting 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus.

Nov. 26

Cyber safety night for parents, 6 to 8 p.m. Northwestern Lehigh High School auditorium, 6493 Route 309, New Tripoli. Office of the Attorney General Special Agent Janene M. Holter will teach parents how to keep children safe online by discussing cyber and personal safety, online predators and cyberbullyng. Not all content is appropriate for younger audience members.

The quarterly meeting of the Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will be 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. After a short business meeting, Zionsville resident Jim Baker will give an informal talk on the old Collegeville Flag Factory which employed many township residents years ago. Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St. Allentown. A membership recognition holiday lunch for members only will be noon to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m., open to the public, the speaker will be Mayor Edward Pawlowski, who will update us on news of what is happening in Allentown.
