With 100 percent of the votes counted in North Whitehall's four districts, Republicans Ron Heintzelman and Rich Celmer have been chosen to serve on the North Whitehall Board of Supervisors, according to unofficial Lehigh County Voter Registration results.
Heintzelman returns to the board for another six-year term having received an unofficial 453 votes in the First District; 330 in the Second District; 598 in the Third and 242 in the Fourth District.
He received 1,623 votes, 61 percent of the total 2,646 votes cast beating out Karen Komlos who garnered 1,023 votes, 39 percent of the vote.
Heintzelman, who has served two terms on the board, said during the campaign as a working supervisor he is available for the daily operations of the township and for any residents who may call with concerns.
Komlos emailed The Press Wednesday with comment on the results.
"I want to thank all the North Whitehall Township residents who worked, voted and supported me in our gallant effort to reform township politics," Komlos wrote. "I urge all residents to continue to stay active, understand the unhappy path the township is taking, and get our voices heard so we can make a change."
Celmer, who ran against Sam Neas for a two-year seat on the board received an unofficial 67 percent of the total 2,542 votes cast, receiving 1,715 votes to Neas' 827 votes.
He garnered an unofficial 460 votes in the First District; 362 in the Second; 593 in the Third; and 301 in the Fourth District.
Neas emailed a post-election comment to The Press Wednesday morning.
"I wish Rich Celmer the best of luck with the township," Neas said. "His previous experience with the planning commission should give him the impetus he needs to make smart decisions for future growth and development."
