The Atlas Cement Memorial Museum fared better in its request for a hotel tax grant than the borough.
Northampton Borough officials recently learned the borough's application for a $50,000 hotel tax grant was denied. The money was to be used to create an uptown minipark at the site of the borough's first outdoor farmers market.
The borough also has a similar grant request submitted to the state for funding for a gaming grant from the Monroe County casino.
The museum headed by Curator Ed Pany, also a borough councilman, was awarded $1,000 to fund the purchase of a digital projector for a computer system.
