Bethlehem Catholic's volleyball team is still alive in the postseason, but how far they will go is still up in the air.
Unfortunately, the Golden Hawks played last night in the District 11 2A semifinals against Central Catholic, but the results of that contest are past our Press deadlines.
Becahi, the fourth seed, topped fifth-seeded Lehighton, in four games (23-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-9) last Thursday, shaking off a first game defeat to come back and crush the Indians in the final three games.
The Hawks now take on a Central Catholic team, who are the top seed, and took care of Saucon Valley in a three game sweep in their opening round contest.
The Vikings lost to Becahi in a three game sweep last year in the district finals and the two teams unfortunately meet each other in the semifinals this season, despite realistically being the two best teams in the tournament.
The winner of Tuesday's match will meet either second-seeded Blue Mountain or third-seeded Notre Dame GP at 7pm Thursday evening at Whitehall.
Field Hockey
In field hockey, Liberty saw their season end to Easton last week with a 1-0 loss in the pigtail round of the tournament. The Hurricanes wrapped up their season at 12-8 following an appearance in the LVC playoffs as well, which ended with a 3-1 loss to Parkland in the opening round.
