Sheckler News

Sheckler Elementary School's annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be open to students who would like to submit a decorated pumpkin.

All entries must be submitted between Monday, Oct. 21, and Wed, Oct. 23. Entries should be placed in Sheckler's courtyard area and be labeled with the student's name and homeroom number, attached on an index card. Pumpkins may be carved, decorated or a combination of both.

Please note they will be displayed outside until Friday, so make sure entries are weather resistant. Judging will take place on Thursday. All entries must be removed at the end of the school day Friday.

First-place ribbons and certificates will be awarded in the following categories: funniest, prettiest, scariest, most colorful, most unusual, best animal theme and best classroom theme. Good luck to all who decide to enter.

A special thank you to the Catasauqua and North Catasauqua fire department volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit Sheckler on Friday, Oct. 11, to help educate students on how to stay safe in the event of a fire and what it takes to be a firefighter. We all appreciate all you have done for our children and the great service you provide to our community. Hats off to all of you!
