William L. Widner

William L. Widner, 94, a longtime resident of Allentown, died peacefully under hospice care on Oct. 6, 2013, in the Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was the husband of Hilda M. (Rosner) Widner, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2001.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Grosschadl) Widner.

He was a dedicated member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Allentown,

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

A skilled carpenter, he worked for Bracy Contracting for many years, and was a life member of both the LV Carpenters Union 600 and Fearless Fire Company.

His survivors include a grandson Christopher M. Widner of Mertztown and his mother Linda L. Widner of Whitehall; and son William F. of Bath.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Widner, and a son Ronald L., along with his siblings.
