Members of the Hellertown Borough council were presented with a space needs study Sept. 16.

Bob Korp, engineer with Barry Isett and Associates, presented the results of the study that explores how existing borough buildings can be restructured to provide more room for the police and public works department and borough staff.

Korp told council the plan was feasible. He said the next step for council is to commission an architect to design a plan.

Councilman Tom Rieger said the study was necessary to develop a plan to deal with space reduction issues the borough has been experiencing.

Councilman Joe Pampanin said cost estimates are needed before moving the public works department to a building located behind the municipal complex.

Council members decided to table the discussion until the first meeting in January.
