Charles W. Druckenmiller Sr.

Charles W. Druckenmiller Sr., 92, of North-ampton, died Oct. 6, 2013, at his home. He was the husband of the late Josephine R. (Makovsky) Druckenmiller.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Pearley C. and Carrie V. (Bartholomew) Druckenmiller.

He was the class president and a 1939 graduate of Northampton High School.

He was in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and achieved the rank of radarman third class petty officer.

He was a bulldozer operator at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation cinder plant for 24 years. He and his brother then owned and operated Druckenmiller Brothers Fencing Company, Northampton, for 16 years.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kreidersville, where he was a past president of church council. He was a 32nd-degree Mason; a member of Chapman Lodge 637 F. & A.M., Northampton; and the Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown. He was a founding member of Northampton AARP, and was the chapter president for many years. He was a former Northampton Borough Council member for many years.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. and her husband Lewis C.W. Resh Sr. of Sunrise, Fla., and Cynthia L. and her husband Michael Ambrosino of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; two sons, Charles W. Jr. and his wife Brenda of Northampton and James D. Sr. and his wife Susan of Sunrise, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., all Oct. 10 at Schisler Funeral Home Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton 18067.
