The Allentown Post Office will host a Breast Cancer Awareness community event at the airport branch Post Office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10 1000 Postal Road, Allentown 18109.
A pink dogwood remembrance tree will be planted in honor of those who have lost their battle from breast cancer. Participants will be able to write the names of their loved ones on pink ribbons and place them on the tree.
Breast Cancer Research semi-postal stamps will be available for purchase. There will be a pictorial postmark designed by The Baum School of Art commemorating the event.
Other community organizations participating include the Allentown Health Bureau, Sacred Heart Hospital, Cancer Support of Lehigh Valley, U.S. Inspection Service and the Allentown Sheriff's Office. The Keystone-Miller Blood Mobile will be onsite for anyone interested in donating blood.
