STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. What grade are you in?
A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. AP US History is my favorite because I enjoy analyzing why events happen in the past and how they affect us today.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, the Eisenhower Memorial Leadership Award and the Widener University Leadership Award.
Q. What extracurricular activities have you been involved in, both in and out of school?
A. I swam for three years, year round and varsity. Last spring I tried track and this fall I am running cross country. I will swim again this year too. This past summer I did a couple of triathlons. I am also involved in debate, Model UN, Scholastic Scrimmage, Boy Scouts, student government and class advisory.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I am considering a number of schools across the country where I hope to major in psychology and pursue my doctorate. I ultimately hope to become a professor.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A. My biggest challenge is learning to say "no" and relax. I always want to be a part of everything and sometimes that is just not possible.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. I hope people remember me for the little times we shared... a smile, a laugh or something nice I did for them or them for me.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My brother Gavin, a junior; my brother Aidan, in sixth grade; my mom, Jolene; and my dad, Jim.
Q. Do you have someone you look up to?
A. I look up to both my parents, my pop-pop, and a number of teachers-mentors.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. Don't try to rush anything. We all always want to grow up so fast but there is so much important stuff happening in the present.
