Judith C. Lieberman, 93, from Emmaus, formerly of Spring Valley, N.J., died Sept. 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Marc A. Lieberman, who died in 1985.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Miriam (Schwartz) Cohen.
As a community activist, she was the recipient of various awards including the Lehigh Valley Aging Inplace Coalition "Person of the Year" in 2006 as well as the Governor's Citizen Crime Protection Volunteer Recognition Award in 2012.
She was actively involved in the Lehigh County Agency on Aging Elder Abuse Task Force and was responsible for initiating Project Lifesaver and Triad in the Lehigh Valley.
She is survived by children, Stephen and his wife Linda, Martha, Howard and his wife Alice, Jay and his wife Marcia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
