Catherine O. Kitty Matthews, 91, formerly of Kempton, died Sept. 30, 2013, in her home at Arden Court Assisted Living, Allentown.
Born Oct. 7, 1921, in Lyons Station, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Olympia (Alvarez) Reppert.
She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Women's Army Corpa for three and a half years.
She was employed for 25 years out of the Reading Post Office, retiring as postmaster of Kutztown.
A member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees local Chapter 103, she served as treasurer for nine years.
She also had been treasurer of the Fogelsville Senior Citzens for 16 years and served as a volunteer with VITA for 10 years.
Her interests were gardening and traveling the world.
Her survivors include daughters Leslie C. Ream of Kempton, Juanita R. Bronstein of Allentown and Pamela T. Baum of Kempton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Thomas W. in 1997.
