Lower Macungie Township Historical Society meeting 7 p.m. at the Macungie Institute, 510 East Main St., Macungie. The meeting will include a slide show by local trolley expert Doug Peters on the Allentown-Emmaus-Macungie trolley line. The event is co-sponsored by the Macungie Historical Society.

The Lower Macungie Township Historical Society sponsors storyteller Charles Kiernan, who will tell tales that cause people to look under their beds before going to sleep, 7 p.m. at the Log House, 5047 Hamilton Boulevard, Wescosville.

The Friends of the 1803 House host A Very Merrie Halloween, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring storytelling and games, a Halloween costume parade and a visit at 11 a.m. from the Wildlands Conservancy with some "not-so-scary" creatures. There will be a baking contest, tours of the historic house and juried crafts and art for sale. Pulled pork platters will be available as well as soups and desserts. Tickets for the pulled pork platters can be purchased in advance at Sweet Memories or the day of the event; take out will be available. Macungie Cool Down Car Show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Macungie Memorial Park. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
