Student named to leadership program
Chaz Orlena, of Allentown, a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering, was one of 15 freshmen named to the Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leader Program.
Select first-year undergraduates are chosen each year based on their high school academic record, commitment to serving their communities, and leadership potential. Students in the program volunteer 300 hours of service with a community partner in the city of Chester and commit to an annual international service trip for an alternative spring break. Students also participate in training and enrichment activities that help them develop leadership skills.
Each PSC/Bonner Leader receives an annual $5,000 scholarship in addition to any need-based financial aid or academic scholarships.
