Youth Lacrosse Club receives grant

The Northampton Area Youth Lacrosse Club is proud to announce that it is a 2013 recipient of the US Lacrosse First Stick Program, for both future boys and girls programs.

The grant recognizes programs that possess a vision and plan for the long term development and provides them with the resources to insure long term success. The US Lacrosse First Stick Program will provide the club with free equipment, for the boys and girls program, reduced US Lacrosse membership fees and coaching education through US Lacrosse certified coaching clinics.

Northampton Area Youth Lacrosse was formed in the summer of 2012 to bring the sport of lacrosse to the Northampton School District. In the spring of 2013, the high school competed in both boys and girls junior varsity division of PIAA District 11.

The 2014 season will bring an expansion of the program to the district for both boys and girls in the U9 age category and plans for a junior varsity and varsity program at the high school level.

Over the next three years, the organization plans to have a full U9 through U15 program dedicated to the fundamental instruction required to educate each athlete in the skills required to play lacrosse and prepare them for the high school level and beyond.
