Jack H. Utt, 72 of Kutztown, died Sept. 22, 2013, in his home.

Born in Kempton, he was a son of the late Clyde F. and Margaret L ( Henry) Utt.

He was a tow motor operator for East Penn Mfg., Lyons, for 28 years before retiring in 2005.

Prior to that, he worked at the former Wenton Shoe Co., Kutztown, for 20 years.

He enjoyed helping his relatives on their farms throughout his retirement and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of the Fogelsville Fire Company; the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club; a social member of the Macungie Veterans Association and Breinigsville VFW Post 8282, as well as having memberships in various other organizations.

His survivors include a daughter Gail J. Utt at home; a son, Michael J. of Slatington; eight sisters: Darlene, wife of Nevin Young and Sharon, wife of Terry Stopp, both of Kutztown; Deanna Ehrets, Bonnie, wife of Brian Snyder and Donna, wife of Dennis Snyder, all of New Tripoli; Joyce, wife of Thomas Wentz of New Ringgold; Penny Brensinger of Topton, and Patti Snyder of Kempton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings Pauletta J. Reichard and Ronald C. Utt.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Sept. 26, in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway (Route 143) New Tripoli. Calling hours begin at 9:30 a.m.

The Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. Interment in Jacob's Union Cemetery, New Tripoli.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the church memorial fund, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, PA 18066.
