Charotin Hose Co.Fire Calls
North Catasauqua's Charotin Hose Company responded to the following calls in July.
Apartment fire
July 1, 4:19 p.m.
Charotin firefighters responded with the Northampton Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS for an apartment building fire at 1702 Main St. in Northampton. Northampton County 9-1-1 initially indicated a fire alarm had sounded but upgraded the assignment with reports of smoke in the building.
Firefighters arrived and determined the cause to be burned food. The mutual aid companies responding on the upgraded assignment were recalled.
EMS assist
July 5, 10:08 a.m.
North Catasauqua personnel responded with Northampton Regional Medic for an unconscious person in the 1400 block Main Street.
Fire alarm
July 5, 12:06 p.m.
Charotin firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm with the Catasauqua Fire Department at 300 Wood St.
Wires and transformer fire
July 8, 3:16 a.m.
North Catasauqua firefighters responded to Howertown Road in Northampton along with Northampton Fire Department, for a wire and transformer fire. The engine established a perimeter and stood by until electrical utility personnel from PPL arrived.
Dwelling fire
July 10, 11:05 a.m.
Firefighters from the North Catasauqua Fire Department responded with Northampton and Allen Township fire departments and Northampton Regional EMS for a dwelling fire in the 1400 block of Canal Street, Northampton. The caller reported an odor of something burning in the residence.
Firefighters checked the building and found nothing of concern. There was no apparent odor, no smoke or high heat and no carbon monoxide.
