Western Salisbury Fire Department volunteers are called to a truck fire near the westbound exit of Interstate 78/Route 309 about 1 p.m. Sept. 19. The driver of the semi-trailer, owned by Extra Mile Trucking LLC, of Hilliard, Ohio, disconnected the tractor from the trailer portion of the rig because smoke obscured the extent of the problem. The source of the smoke was overheated brakes that firefighters cooled down with a hoseline.
