Attempted entry

made at home

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say a woman reported an attempt was made around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 9 to open a locked rear door of a home in the 5100 block of Vera Cruz Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say the door handle was damaged but no entry was made to the home.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Trooper Deangeles at 610-395-1438.

Drivers arrested

for DUI

Hunter Russiano, 19, of Zionsville, was allegedly stopped for several traffic violations 2:13 a.m. Sept. 1 on Hamilton Boulevard at I-78, South Whitehall Township, State Police Troop M Fogelsville say.

Police allege Russiano exhibited signs of intoxication. He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was transported to the Lehigh County Prison, processed and released.

In a separate incident, police say William Smoyer of Herrick Center was stopped for an alleged traffic violation 1:13 a.m. on Sept. 6 on Route 100 at Industrial Boulevard, Upper Macungie Township.

Smoyer was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, police say.

Driver taken

into custody

Mark Mathew Rex, 22, of Germansville, was driving a 2005 Subaru Outback on Route 873, North Whitehall Township when he was stopped for allegedly several traffic violations 11:37 a.m. Sept. 6, State Police Troop M Bethlehem say.

Rex was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of controlled substance, police say.

Police allege drug paraphernalia and illegal narcotics were found.

Charges will be filed with District Judge Jake Hammond, South Whitehall Township.
