The Borough of Emmaus flys flags at half-staff through Saturday to honor Mayor Barry W. Barto, 69, who died Sept. 8. A memorial service for Barto will take place Sept. 21 at St. John's UCC, 139 N. 4th St., Emmaus. Flags at The Triangle, pictured here, Borough Hall and the Emmaus Police station were among those lowered for Barto who was mayor from 1994 to 1997. Flags in the borough also flew at half-staff last week as part of the Sept. 11, 2001 remembrance.
