Mae V. Dorney
Mae V. Dorney, 89, from Brei-nigsville, formerly of Fogelsville, died Sept. 7, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown.
She was the widow of George F. Dorney, to whom she would have been married 67 years on Sept. 14.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Heiser) Layton.
She was a waitress and hostess at the former Village Inn, South Whitehall, for 23 years and also helped with the family's lawn service business.
She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fogelsville Fire Company and a very active member for 35 years.
She loved bingo, her bingo friends, game nights and her family, especially her granddaughters.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fogelsville.
Her survivors include daughters, Debbie Tuttle of Breinigsville and April, wife of Steve Zehr, of Fogelsville; brother Charles Layton Jr. and his wife, Doris, of Cetronia; sisters Ruth Shirock of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Betty, wife of Gus Sinkbile, of Allentown; granddaughters, Dina Billowitch and partner Charlotte Boles of Sinking Springs and Lacey Kuhns and fiancé Yohannes Teklegiorgis of Philadelphia.
She was predeceased by brothers Richard and Robert.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 13, at Keller Funeral Homes Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville, with the Rev. Anne Huey officiating.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be private.
