James Robert Allison, 64, of South Whitehall Township, died Sept. 5, 2013, at home.

He and his wife Virginia (Hrubec) Allison were married six years.

Born in Miami, Fla., he was the son of the late Harold and Ernestine (Borum) Allison.

In 1989, he retired from the U.S. Army, with which he served more than 20 years and during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Angela of Nazareth; stepsons Joseph Hrubec of Boise, Idaho, Jeffrey Hrubec of Arizona; stepdaughter Lisa Hrubec, formerly of Coopersburg; sister Theresa Dunn of Florida; three granddaughters; five step-grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.

He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Sept. 12, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown.

Calling begins 9:30 a.m. Burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
