Henry L. Stampfel, 90, of Allentown, formerly of Seaford, N.Y, died Sept. 5, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit.
He and his wife Joan M. (Stears) Stampfel celebrated their 65th anniversary in June.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Louis and Sophie (Stampfl) Stampfel.
He worked for the Schlitz and Schaefer Brewery, Brooklyn, N.Y. in packaging, then continued working for the Schaefer and Stroh Brewery, Fogelsville.
A radio mechanic during World War II, he honorably and proudly served his country in the Army Air Force.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
He enjoyed watching the New York Mets.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Lorraine, wife of Tom Rao, of Bohemia, N.Y., Maureen, wife of Wayne Maskiell, of St. James, N.Y, Henry and wife, Anne, of Massapequa, N.Y, Tim and wife, Sheree, of Easton, and Nadine, wife of Todd Rizzuto, of Breinigsville; 12 loving grandchildren and six loving great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph, and a sister, Sophie Tscherne.
