Girls drop two matches

The girls tennis team lost a couple of recent games.

Stroudsburg topped the Kids 5-2.

Northampton's only winners were Emma Angle at number-three singles. She defeated Stefi Lunda 6-4, 6-0. At number three singles, Delaney Haggerty and Jolene Stearns were very close, 7-5, 7-6 (5) winners over Mariah Bostwick and Maci Kendrick.

In another close match that didn't go the Kids way, Leah Hodge and Angle lost at number-one doubles to Yasmine Hasan and Sophia Rostock 8-7 (9-7).

Against Central Catholic, the girls dropped a close, 4-3 contest.

Hodge was the only singles winner for NHS. She dropped the first set 6-1, but bounced back to take a close set two by a score of 7-5. She then finished off Maria Zartler 6-2 in the third set.

The number-three team won again with Haggerty and Stearns need three sets to take down Ella Gutman and Kathleen Stanus, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

At number-one doubles, Skylar Kostick and Cece Lebus won 4-0 over Margaret Fleck and Kelly Pausavik.
