St. Ann Church holds 31st annual fall festival

St. Ann Church had perfect fall weather last Thursday, Friday and Saturday for its 31st annual Fall Fest community festival.

Don Marron, of Lower Macungie Township, chairman of the event, said he believed the church festival is the longest continuously run community event in the Emmaus area. He said the annual festival draws thousands of visitors from throughout Lehigh Valley communities.

More than 100 parish volunteers cook and serve food, run games, raffles and events to benefit St. Ann Church. Marron said several volunteers have been workers for the event since its inception.

"We have other fundraising events during the year, but this is the only one that is held to solely support the church for operating funds and community outreach programs," Marron said.

Marron also noted that strong borough business and administrative support help make the annual event a success. He said the Emmaus Ambulance Corps each year provides first aid and medical coverage for the festival as a community service.

Marron said the event provides parishioners with a "tremendous opportunity for community fellowship, and our feedback from those who attend tells us the festival is equally appreciated by those who come here every year."
