Ronald W. "Ronnie" Donat, 74, of Lenhartsville, died Aug. 31, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He and his wife Nancy E. ( Kerschner) Donat celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August.

Born in Schnecksville, he was a son of the late Nevin and Ada (Trexler) Donat.

He was a cryogenic machinery mechanic for Air Products and Chemicals, Trexlertown, for 31 years before retiring in 2003.

He also was a self-employed farmer in Greenwich Township from 1954-82.

He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC, Krumsville.

A 1957 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, he later attended Penn State University.

A very caring person, he enjoyed helping his neighbors.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Terry L. and wife, Cheryl, of Glen Ellyn, Ill. and David J. and wife Beverly A., at home; and beloved grandchildren Meghan and Ashley.

He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Heinly.
