Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive in nearby Moore Township, will hold a picnic 1-5 p.m. Sept 15.

It will feature food, entertainment and make-your-own ice cream sundaes. There will also be a cake walk and activities for all ages.

Emmanuel's Lutheran Church will also be celebrating its 290th anniversary with a banquet at the Allen Township Fire Company, 3530 Howertown Road, Friday, Oct. 4.

A fellowship hour will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a cash bar, chips and pretzels. This will be followed by a country-style meal. Music will be provided from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Anyone wishing to bake for the banquet is welcome to do so. The church has requested no cupcakes be prepared as something special is planned.

Sept. 15 is the deadline to sign up and pay for the banquet. No reservations will be accepted after that date.

The Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive, will hold a fall festival 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.

Flea market and craft vendors are needed.

Also included will be a Chinese auction, tractor and hit-and-miss engine show, games for all ages, pumpkin painting, hay rides, a cakewalk, food and more. Barbecued chicken and clams will be available.

The event promises to be a fun day for the entire family.
