Charotin Hose Co. Fire Calls

North Catasauqua's Charotin Hose Company responded to the following calls recently.

Dwelling fire

June 17, 12:58 a.m.

North Catasauqua firefighters responded with the Northampton Fire Department for a report of a dwelling fire in the 1300 block of Newport Avenue. The caller had reported smoke filling an apartment in the multifamily dwelling. Firefighters located a power strip that had malfunctioned in the living room. It was unplugged and the smoke was ventilated mechanically. The Allen Township Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS were also on the assignment.

Motor vehicle accident

June 20, 7:17 p.m.

Charotin personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. The collision occurred in the 500 block of Main Street in Northampton. Also responding on the assignment was Northampton Regional EMS 49.

Firefighters assisted with patient removal and covered fluids from the two-vehicle head-on collision in the middle of the S-turn in Main Street.

Smoke detectors sounding

June 28, 10:27 a.m.

Firefighters went to the 400 block of Crane Street, Catasauqua, along with the Catasauqua Fire Department, for a smoke detector activation. The caller was a home inspector, conducting a presale inspection, who arrived to find the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in alarm and dialed 9-1-1. Firefighters found no indication of a fire or carbon monoxide. The inspector and potential buyers were allowed to return.
