inducted into honor societies
Lehigh Carbon Community College honored students from two honor societies, Kappa Beta Delta and Lambda Epsilon Chi at a ceremony April 25 at the school's main campus in Schnecksville.
The following individuals were inducted into KBD, the International Honor Society honoring outstanding students in LCCC's Associate degree programs of accounting, business, computer science/computer specialist, and hospitality that are accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs.
Allentown: Baljeet Dhaliwal, Edward Eckert, Corey Frost, Jason Marcante, Willis Obwa, Frankline Odongo, and Charie Schantz.
Kutztown: Halley Meitzler.
Laurys Station: Robert Campanella.
Schnecksville: Karlen Heiland and Judith Parker.
Slatington: Kristin Wagner-Mann.
KBD member institutions are accredited through ACBSP and are recognized throughout the business community as leaders in higher education. The purposes of KBD, an International Business Honor Society, are to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business pursuing associate degrees and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind. Invitation to KBD gives students lifetime recognition for outstanding academic achievement.
Shannon Ettl, of Orefield was inducted into LEX, the National Honor Society in paralegal/legal assistant studies based upon academic excellence.
LEX students must meet the following qualifications, which include at least 12 credits in paralegal studies courses:
Associate in Applied Sciences degree students must earn a 3.5 grade point average overall and 3.25 in major and completion of at least 49 credits - included in which are at least 12 credits in paralegal studies courses.
Certificate Program Students must earn a 3.5 grade point average overall and 3.25 in major and completion of at least 24 credits - included in which are at least 12 credits in paralegal studies courses.
