North Catasauqua's Charotin Hose Company responded to the following calls recently.
Dwelling fire
June 6, 2:15 p.m.
Charotin personnel responded with the Northampton Fire Department for a reported dwelling fire in the 100 block of Frank Drive, Northampton. Allen Township Fire Department and Northampton Regional EMS were also on the assignment.
Malicious call
June 10
Catasauqua and North Catasauqua fire departments were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 29 Mulberry St. Personnel arriving on location reported nothing showing. A check of the area revealed no fire.
Missing boater
June 16, 7:02 p.m.
NCFD personnel responded to the Lehigh River to assist in a search for a missing boater. The boater attempted to canoe the Lehigh River from Walnutport to Northampton but did not arrive as intended.
The search located the canoe but found no signs of the boater. The search was discontinued for the evening as the sun set.
Motor vehicle accident
June 17
North Catasauqua personnel responded to the intersection of East Fourth Street and Howertown Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. NCFD covered the call for the Northampton Fire Department personnel who were operating on the Lehigh River searching for the missing boater from the day before.
Firefighters evaluated two patients and covered fluids down on the roadway under the direction of an Northampton Assistant Chief.
