New teachers welcomed

The Salisbury Township School District Board of Directors welcomed new teachers and approved other personnel issues at their Aug. 14 meeting at the administration building.

Joining the district this year are Aaron Yetter, of Allentown, full time teacher at Salisbury High School; Erin Moeser, of Perkasie, psychologist at both Harry S Truman Elementary School and SHS; Mario Amato, of Easton, part-time learning support at Western Salisbury Elementary School; Carla Pacitti, of Tamaqua, English teacher at SHS; and Kara Bellis, of Allentown, full-time learning support teacher at Salisbury Middle School.

In other personnel news, the board accepted the following resignations: Linda Scardigno as a school psychologist at WSE and HST, Lisa Emrick as a part-time nurse assistant at WSE and HST, Geoffrey Laird as a part-time business teacher at SHS, Nancy Russo as a part-time instructional assistant at SMS, Amilee Schillinger as a part-time instructional assistant at SMS, Eric Saltsman as chorus advisor for HST and WSE and Sharon Busolits as a part-time instructional assistant at WSE.

Betty Kline retired as a part time cafeteria worker at HST.

HST teacher Jean Schey was granted a FMLA leave for up to 60 days effective Aug. 20 and HST teacher Dana Sugra's general leave of absence was extended through the beginning of the third marking period of the 2013-2014 school year.

Kaitlyn O'Dor, of Bethlehem, was approved as a long-term substitute teacher at HST for Sugra.

Meghan Ott was transferred from a full-time learning support teacher at SMS to a full-time learning support teacher at HST.

Lisa Moyer, of Alburtis, was approved as a full-time long-term substitute teacher at HST.

Kayla Jones, of Easton, was approved as a part-time instructional assistant at WSE.

Casey Lily, of Northampton, was approved as a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at WSE.

Vicky Bohning was approved to transfer from a part-time learning support instructional assistant at SHS to a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at WSE.

Diane Walbert has been transferred from a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at WSE to a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at SMS.

Timarie Kelhart has been transfered from a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at HST to SMS.

Sheri Mohry has been transferred from a part-time instructional assistant at WSE to HST.

Rebecca Foehrkolb, a part-time one-on-one instructional assistant at WSE has had her hours increased to 4 hours a day.

Heiam Richie, a full-time custodian, has been transferred from SHS to HST.

Shawn Judd, a full-time custodian, has been transferred from HST to WSE.

Michael Lewis, a full time custodian, has been transferred from WSE to SHS.

Pacitti has been named newspaper advisor for the 2013-2014 school year at SHS at a contractual rate of pay of $2,703.

Jason Hohring, of Allentown, has been approved as the swimming coach for the 2013-2014 school term at a contractual rate of pay of $5,102.

Sukearia Powell, of Allentown, was approved as an assistant field hockey coach for the 2013-2014 school term at a contractual rate of pay of $2,793.

Elyse Saeger, of Center Valley, was approved as a chorus advisor for HST and WSE for the 2013-2014 school term at a contractual rate of pay for each position of $905.

Todd Mika, of Bethlehem, and David Haninchick, of Allentown, were approved as co-junior varisty football coaches for the 2013-2014 school term at a contractual rate of pay for the position of $4,526 to be split equally between them.

Kailey DeOliveira, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant varsity girls soccer coach.

Aubrey Evans, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant band director.

Brian Covely, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer golf coach.

Louis Bottitta, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant girls tennis coach.

Timothy Zaborowski, of Allentown was approved as a volunteer assistant girls tennis coach.

Avery Markle, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant middle school field hockey coach.

Arthur Weaver, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant varsity football coach.

Austin Krajcic, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant varsity football coach.

Shaheed Mitchell, of Whitehall, was approved as a volunteer assistant varsity football coach.

Susan Kelly, of Allentown, was approved as a volunteer assistant varsity cheerleading coach.

Some of the new hire approvals were pending completion of requirements.
