Driver arrested

for DUI

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Mark Heckman of S. 4th Street, Hamburg, was stopped for an alleged traffic violation Aug. 3 on I-78 West at Adams Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Police allege Heckman displayed several indicators of intoxication.

He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Charges will be filed with District Judge Michael Faulkner, Upper Macungie, upon receipt of blood test results, police say.

into custody

Police say Teofilo Castillo, 62, of Reading, was stopped for an alleged traffic violation 2:29 p.m. July 29 on Route 222 at Grim Road, Upper Macungie.

Police say Castillo was allegedly wanted in Florida.

He was taken into custody based on the warrant and transported to Lehigh County Prison.

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Patricia Squire, 57, of Macungie, was stopped for an alleged traffic violation 12:05 a.m. Aug. 3 on Hamilton Boulevard at I-78, South Whitehall Township.

Squire was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, police say.

She was transported to Lehigh County Prison and released.

Charges were filed, police say.

Vehicle hits sign

on Route 309 ramp

Migdalia D. Morrison, 45, of Fogelsville, was driving a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander when it struck a sign 12:15 a.m. Aug. 5 on the ramp from Route 309 to Route 22 West, South Whitehall Township, police say.

Police allege Morrison failed to properly negotiate the curve and the SUV traveled onto the grass median, striking the sign.

Morrison allegedly drove from the scene without stopping, police say.

Neither Morrison nor passenger David J. Morrison, 43, of Fogelsville, were injured, police say.

Morrison was charged with careless driving.
