Man cited for doing

yard work au naturel

Upper Macungie Township police say a 72-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct after they received reports he was doing yard work sans clothing around 8:30 a.m. July 31 in the 7000 block of Ruppsville Road, Upper Macungie Township.

Police say he was still working outside in his yard without any clothing on when they arrived.

Cash, cards stolen

from money clip

Police say Chris Frissora of Franklin Square, N.Y. reported to police July 14 that $600 in cash and miscellaneous cards were stolen from his money clip at the Hampton Inn, 7471 Keebler Way, Upper Macungie.

The money clip was turned into hotel staff without any money in it, police say.

Fake $100 bill used

to buy gift card

Police say at approximately 5:14 p.m. on July 17 a man wearing a black hat, white shirt and jean shorts purchased a gift card using a fake $100 bill at CVS, 5801 Tilghman St., Upper Macungie Township.

Police say a check later in the evening of the money determined the bill to be fraudulent.

Hit and run

crash in township

Police say Kevin C. Jones, 24, of Bethlehem, and Houston Stafford, 32, of Whitehall were both traveling westbound on Tilghman Street, west of Ruppsville Road, Upper Macungie Township, at 10:30 a.m. July 22 when their vehicles collided .

According to police, Jones was traveling in a lane that ended and merged into the lane being occupied by Stafford's vehicle.

Jones' vehicle struck Stafford's vehicle, police say.

There were no reported injuries and both vehicles sustained only minor damage, police.

Police allege Jones failed to stop and provide the required information to Stafford relevant to the crash. Miscellaneous traffic related charges are pending against Jones, police say.

Vehicle collide

on Schantz Road

Police say Antonio Deleon-Beltre, 33, of Reading, was driving behind a vehicle driven by Robert Lombardo, 47, of Newark, N.J., when his vehicle struck Lombardo's vehicle in the rear at 4 p.m. on July 23 on Schantz Road, near Dietrich Road, Upper Macungie Township.

According to police, Lombardo was eastbound on Schantz Road when he slowed or stopped for traffic due to a vehicle in front of him turning left onto Dietrich Road.

Deleon-Beltre apparently failed to stop in time and struck Lombardo's vehicle in the rear, police say.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage and both operators were transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to local hospitals for evaluations due to complaints of pain, policesay.

Cell phone found;

police seek owner

Upper Macungie Township police say a cell phone was found near the gas pumps around 3 p.m. July 24 at Sunoco A-Plus, 240 North Route 100, Upper Macungie Township.

Police are requesting the owner contact the police department at 484-661-5911 with a description and proof of ownership to take custody of the phone.
