Richard J. Castagnera, 61, of Allentown, died July 31, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

He and his wife Margaret M. (Cassel) Castagnera celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on June 22.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Ann (Zawediuk) Castagnera of El Cajon, Calif., and the late Irvin Castagnera.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by brothers, John and his wife Karen of La Mesa, Calif.; Lamont and his wife Elizabeth of El Cajon; nieces Kimberly, Kerrie, Louann Steward, Roxanne Nieves and Samantha Steward.

His family will receive relatives and friends at a date to be announced.

He was the recipient of a kidney transplant through the Gift of Life Donor Program.

His family suggests a donation in his memory be made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.
