The next regular meeting of the Indianland Garden Club will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Hope Lutheran Church in Cherryville.

Master gardener Becky Short will present a program entitled, "Colonial Herbs."

Tournament consists of annual specimens aster, gladiola, salvia, scabiosa, verbena, sunflower, marigold, zinnia, dahlia, petunia and coleus. Perennial specimens include chrysanthemum, brown-eyed Susan, foxglove, hollyhock and rose and houseplants include tropical plant, jade and hanging basket.

Arrangements such as Lazy Bones, a horizontal design; Beat the Heat, using a fan in the arrangement; and Sunset, which includes the designers interpretation using vibrant colors, can be entered.

A Pennsylvania hunter-trapper course is being offered at Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 17.

Attendees must register online at pgc.state.pa.us to take the online portion and register for the Saturday class.

The Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company Country Garden will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-noon Sunday, Aug. 18.

All proceeds benefit the fire company.
