George A. Conrad, 71, of South Whitehall Township, died July 28, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital after being stricken.
He and his wife Betty Jane (Cope) Conrad were married 51 years Sunday.
Born in Vera Cruz, he was a son of the late Melvin G. and Fern G. (Roth) Conrad.
He was a metal forger at Bonney Forge for 32 years before retiring in 2007.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Trexlertown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Kimberly, wife of Keith Emrich of Mertztown, Gary Conrad in Tennessee, and John Conrad, husband of Liz, of Whitehall; sisters Jean Abraham of Easton and Fay Fegely of Macungie; grandchildren Megan, wife of John Gougoustamos, Niccole Emrich, Kimberly Conrad and Thomas John Conrad, and great-granddaughter, Varvara Gougoustamos.
He was predeceased by a son, George A. Jr. and brother Harry "Hank" Conrad.
His funeral service will take place 7 p.m. Aug. 1 in Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville.
Calling hours will be 5 p.m. Thursday until the service.
